Empowering Vulnerable Youth: Introducing the MRI Day Center
We are proud to unveil a transformative initiative aimed at addressing a pressing issue plaguing our communities: Substance Use Disorder among homeless street children and youth aged 10 – 34. Led by the Office of the First Lady of Kenya, Her Excellency Rachel Ruto, and bolstered by a coalition of 23 Local and International organizations, Global Gardens of Peace, universities, private sectors, and Mental Recovery International, we introduce the groundbreaking “MRI Day Center.”
Our Vision: Building Hope, Creating Futures
Substance Use Disorder continues to afflict vulnerable young lives, exacerbated by the severe socio-economic challenges faced by families in Kenya. The MRI Day Center stands as a beacon of hope, striving to provide rehabilitation services and reshape destinies.
Key Objectives: Transforming Lives Holistically
Our objectives encompass comprehensive care, focusing on:
Early screening and tailored treatment for high-risk street children, especially orphans.
Holistic interventions spanning harm reduction, detoxification, and family/community support.
Empowerment through education, skill development, talent nurturing in sports and arts, and ICT & vocational training.
Inside the MRI Day Center: A Sanctuary for Recovery
The facility comprises specialized units:
SUD Recovery Unit: Providing tailored programs for overcoming Substance Use Disorder.
Empowerment Hub: Equipping individuals with the skills needed for a brighter future.
