MRI MENTAL HEALTH & INNOVATION FESTIVAL 2023

The Festival brings regional and international specialists to the stage in working in a breadth of sectors where often these are overlooked, and with that, discussion workshops that will seek pathways for treatment and for self-management.

Situations that include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the variety of its causes, genetic disorders, situations of disability, social exclusion, cultural differentiation, elderly, youth, forced displacement, domestic factors, and other areas where mental health conditions need assessment, triage and treatment, are to be examined across the sessions within the Festival.

Similarly, panel discussions will seek to develop dialogue for pathways and policy-building, whilst workshops will seek to demonstrate possibilities for interventions.

A feature of the event will include technological innovations to measure psychological parameters that can assist with the assessment and monitoring of people to improve health system capabilities and capacity for treatment.

Likewise, programs that may assist individuals in coping with and managing pathways away from mental health impacts will be presented, and these include arts programs, immersion into safe environments (both physical and virtual), and as well immersion into natural environments as a treatment protocol.

Proceeds from the MRI Mental Health & Innovation Festival 2023 will go towards the establishment of the MRI Day Center dedicated to mental health recovery for Substance Abuse Disorder victims and other mental health disorders in Kenya.
